Creating and maintaining inner peace requires you to be congruent in all areas of your life, including your physical space, your emotional state, and your spiritual connection. A Sacred Soul Space includes all of these aspects of the environment we are surrounded by. On a physical level, it is a personal sanctuary where you are able to immerse yourself into a multi-sensory environment that supports and strengthens your dreams and desires. On an emotional level, it is doing activities that keep you balanced. On a spiritual level, it is connecting to your higher self and tapping into Universal Consciousness. Below, I share strategies for creating Sacred Soul Space for inner peace in your physical, emotional and spiritual environments. Â
Physical EnvironmentÂ
Clutter Clearing – Clutter in a space creates chaos in the mind. It can create breathing problems, mental confusion and overall discomfort. It causes stress, anxiety and tension. When a room is clutter free, it feels open and expansive. There is room to move around. It creates possibility and uplifts the spirit, opening you up to opportunity. It is calming. When you are clearing out your spaces, ask yourself: Do I love this? Do I use this? Have I used it or worn it in the last two years? If the answer is no, it’s time to let it go. Â
Smudging – Smudging your space produces negative ions (similar to waterfalls and ocean waves), which increases overall well-being. It improves mental focus and memory and increases energy, so it can be used as a natural anti-depressant. It also improves sleep patterns due to regulating serotonin levels. It calms and relaxes the body, relieving stress and tension. Smudging can also clear negative energy from emotions held in a room, including anger, anxiety, fear, depression and grief. Â
Colors – Incorporating colors into your physical space that carry the frequency of inner peace is highly beneficial. These colors include green, teal, blue and purple. You can introduce the colors into your space in a variety of ways such as in fabrics, artwork, décor pieces, and crystals. Â
Greenery – Similar to colors, certain plants carry the energy of inner peace. These include the Peace Lily, Rosemary, Lavender, Money Plant, Basil, Sage, English Ivy, and Miniature Roses (white, peach, and lavender). Â

Emotional EnvironmentÂ
Daily gratitude list – Writing out a daily gratitude list helps to keep you focused on what you are grateful for in your life rather than being bogged down by the negative things that pop up for you. The key to the success is to do it daily, or as often as you can. When your mind focuses on positive things, it helps to create more positive things in your life. You are resonating at a higher frequency and can attract positive things.Â
Exercise Routine – I strongly recommend you create an exercise routine that works for you and your schedule. It could be as simple as walking three to five times a week for 30 minutes (even better if you do it daily). It could be more extensive with attending classes, hiring a personal trainer, or other physical activity. Exercising is not only good for your physical body; it is amazing for your emotional body as well. Working out helps to move the energy through your body and to clear your mind. It releases endorphins making you feel better. Â
Tapping and Clearing – When you find yourself getting caught up in an emotional wave, there are various ways to help you release those emotions. One modality that has become more well known in recent years is tapping, EFT (emotional freedom technique). There are books that can teach you how to tap, such as Nick Ortner’s, The Tapping Solution. There are also practitioners who can work with you to clear out your emotions using this method. Â

Spiritual EnvironmentÂ
Affirmations – An effective practice that can help you connect to your spiritual self and rewire your brain is saying affirmations. Affirmations are motivational statements or slogans written or spoken in present tense using positive words. It is imperative to make it a daily practice to repeat the affirmation to yourself throughout the day. You might want to write it on a piece of paper that you put in a place that you see frequently such as in your car, on your bathroom mirror or at your office. Â
Meditation and Visualization – There are many different ways to do meditation. You can quiet your mind. You can be led on a meditative journey. You can focus on specific dreams and goals. You can say mantras or affirmations while meditating. With meditation, the more you do it, the easier it gets. It helps calm and clear the mind to keep you in a healthy spiritual environment.Â
Take time to consciously create your physical, emotional, and spiritual environments that you have control over, and witness the inner peace that will result. No matter what is going on around you, inner peace can be yours.Â
