Creative flow is one of the innate, unwavering characteristics of the Divine Feminine who resides within each one of us—no matter what sex we are. Many women, including myself, refer to this sacred part of ourselves as the Inner Goddess.
Learning to connect with and listen to your Inner Goddess gets that creative energy flowing. Allowing yourself to be fully present with creative energy is an incredible way to clear, heal, and transform your mind, body, spirit and soul. The more you give yourself permission to engage with this flow and express your creative energy, the more energetic and whole you’ll feel, the stronger your intuition will become, and your manifesting mojo will magnify.
Creative flow does all this because it engages all of your chakras. It begins at the crown where you connect with Divine Source Energy and open yourself to guidance and inspiration. From there the energy travels down through each of your chakras.
Once this energy finds its way to the sacral chakra, it is common to energetically abort inspired ideas by saying to ourselves, “I don’t know how”, “ I don’t have the time”, “ I don’t have the money or the space to do this”, etc.. This aborting, this snuffing out of creative flow creates energy blocks which then lead to dis-ease physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
OR, you say to yourself, “Okay, let’s do it!” and you begin acting consciously on this inspired action as the project gestates and then you birth it outside yourself to the world through your root chakra.
Let’s be real for a moment, we cannot act on every inspirational idea that comes to us, but if you choose to never act, there is something hiding within you, keeping you stuck, keeping you small, KEEPING YOU from fully BEing, LIVing & LOVing the TRUE YOU
You might be thinking, “Wow, what a process!”, but it isn’t over yet.
Once this beautiful project is birthed, there’s still a bit of work to bring it to completion. You see, now it is outside of you. Just like when we bring a babe into the world, this flow now journeys its way back up through your chakras to your heart space where you feel it in so many more ways and so much deeper than you did originally because now, this creation has its own life outside of you.
All the feels of bringing this creation forth leads culminates in gratitude. Gratitude to Divine Source for the inspiration. Gratitude for the process and gratitude for yourself for gifting you and your Goddess self the time.
That, Goddesses, is the creative flow.
Make no mistake, the flow can be blocked at any of the chakras, but the sacral chakra, one could argue, is where your inner chalice lives, your womb space, your sacred container, the home of your inner creatrix.
A brief word on inspiration- Ever wonder how others find inspiration so easily and not for you? You may be looking too hard for it or overlooking it all together.
Inspiration can be found hanging out in plain sight, if you have eyes to see and ears to hear. Just in case you need a little help, and we all do at one time or another, here are a few simple tips on accessing inspiration for yourself:
- Engage in a quiet activity such as sketching, journaling or coloring.
- Clear some space-literally, clean off that desk, table or clean out that closet and make room for yumminess! You never know what inspiration is hidden.
- Get up and move-go for a walk, do some yoga, a workout, play some music and dance, even!
- Do you already have an unfinished or un-started creative project? Now just may be the time to settle into it so you can share with the world.
I have created a brief guided meditation to help you tap into your chakras and feel the pathway of creative flow. Enjoy!
Find a quiet space and begin connecting with your breath: in through your nose, out through your mouth. Make sure you are bringing your breath all the way down into your pelvic area. And you are going to do that a few more times just deep and slow, you don’t want to get light-headed. Just kind of move and shift your shoulders, neck, your hips until you are comfortable and just feeling the tension releasing from your body.
Now I just want you to focus on that space, your inner vision track. That space right between your eyes, right in your middle forehead, the third eye. And as other thoughts come up just swipe them away, like you are closing the apps on your phone, just swipe them away. Until you bring yourself to a nice, peaceful, serene, zen environment.
- In this zen-full space, you find yourself outside in the sunlight this or envision yourself soaking up the sun rays through a window. Feel the warmth upon your head and notice how you feel it as you bring your awareness down through the rest of your body, this alone helps in clearing and recharging your energy.
- Like the sun, your inspiration first appears at your crown chakra where you connect with Divine Source Energy, and quickly moves to the third eye chakra where you receive the vision for your creation in the same way you get a picture in your mind while reading a story or a book.
- Now you begin communicating the inspired idea with yourself as the creative flow moves on to your throat chakra. This then opens the space for you to feel the inspiration at your heart chakra.
- Once it reaches your solar plexus, you are ready to imprint your own authentic perspective which can only come from you! Feel into the day-dreamish, incredible and weightless energy of the creative flow here.
- The next way point is your sacral chakra. This is where it gets real. Akin to a crossroads- the crossroad between an idea that doesn’t become fertile and one that does.
- You find yourself asking questions like: Am I passionate about it? Am I passionate about it enough to support it with my time and whatever else is needed during this gestational period?
- If you said YES to being passionate about it and are willing and able to support its gestation, then you need only take inspired, conscious action and continue to hold the vision until it is super duper crystal clear in your mind. Allow the vision to build momentum and tap into the feeling of having already birthed this creation through your root chakra. Revel in the feeling af having brought through its completion and living outside of you.
- Love it. Love yourself. Thank yourself, your Inner Goddess and Divine Source for this blessing of creation.
And begin bringing yourself back to the present moment by wiggling your fingers and toes, breathing and stretching back into your body before taking your thoughts and reflection into your journal time.
See, that was easier than you thought, right? It is something that we already do, but when you engage with creative flow in conscious co-creation with Divine and your Highest Self, your life feels more enriched. Your creations and creative process takes on an entirely new perspective.
