Nothing stays stagnant and life is cyclical. There are ups and downs… blistery cold winters followed by fresh springs that arrive in each key area of your life. Every time spring appears in my life, I know it’s because I’m choosing abundance.
Personally, I spent most of my adult life seeking what my life purpose was. As a self-proclaimed “student of life”, I have always thoroughly enjoyed expanding my knowledge, so going to school and getting certifications in everything and anything that interested me has been my thing. If the subject interests me, I suck up information like a sponge! Growing and expanding my knowledge is another way that I continually choose abundance!
You see, EVERY living thing on the planet is alive, so you are either growing or dying.
So, if you’re working on reaching your full potential in your life and/or business, you are by definition – CHOOSING ABUNDANCE.
That’s one of the reasons I started my Goddess Laptop Lifestyle™ business. It ensures I’m forever growing personally AND professionally. As an entrepreneur you are constantly facing your fears, brainstorming ideas and concepts, and strategizing on how to get the results you seek. There’s absolutely no way to keep the personal growth aspect out of your professional work as an entrepreneur – they go hand in hand.
Growing and expanding can feel joyful, so I’d like to share with you some of the wisdom I’ve gleaned over the last 6 years regarding choosing abundance in your life and business.
NOTE: My suggestions may seem very “non joyful” to you today, however trust me, when you tame your fear dragons, you’ll feel the joy!
Steady Steps (Even Small Ones) Build Momentum Over Time
When I first started my online business, I worked all the time – all day every day and most nights. I loved what I was doing so much that it didn’t feel like work really, so I kept going until my eyes were hanging out of my head – beyond tired. However, women can tend to burn out. Too much of a good thing IS too much and can cause physical manifestations like dis-ease of the body and mind. The most important thing you can do to move your life and business forward is take steady steps towards your goal. Your consistency is what matters most.
I work privately with quite a few women who have “all or nothing” behaviors, so I know how prevalent that is when you’re an ambitious person. If that’s you, allow me to get into your head and assure you that it’s the tortoise that wins the race, not the hare. Some days you can take huge leaps forward and other days work on being okay with a baby step. It’s all good as long as you’re moving towards your goal. Call on the archetype of Taurus to assist you in taking slow, steady steps for manifesting your desires in the physical realm.
If It Scares The Crap Out Of You – DO IT!
Magic happens outside your comfort zone, so use your fears as a map to move in the direction of growing and choosing abundance! I’ve been pushing through fears personally and professionally for years, and I assure you, I have grown. As a matter of fact, I’ve gotten so good at identifying my fear dragons that as soon as resistance shows up – I just DO whatever the hell it is I’m dragging my feet over. So when you feel a tingle of resistance bubble up or a loud “HELL NO”, and you know down deep inside you need to do it in order to stand in your full goddess power – JUST DO IT!
Here are some fear dragons I’m currently taming; swimming in the ocean (I’m ridiculously scared of the big creatures with teeth that dwell in the ocean), going on insane rollercoasters, public speaking in any capacity, and making videos. Now it’s your turn, make a list of your fear dragons and get cracking!
Your Business, Your Way.
My private Business Magic clients will tell you that one of my favorite mottos is, “Your business, your way”. Creating a personal brand and Goddess Laptop Lifestyle™ should afford you time and money freedom, so that means you get to decide when you work and when you unplug from work. I recently tested the “Your Business, Your Way” concept big time. I needed to take mid 2016 until mid 2017 off from work while I moved from New York to Florida and finalized my divorce.
In full transparency, I was nervous about it affecting my business growth and revenue… and guess what? My business grew and my revenue went up most months! You might be thinking how I did it? Well, before the move I began systematizing my business from the foundation – up. Then as I was approaching the move, I sent heartfelt emails (approximately 1 per week) to my community sharing what was going on in my life truthfully and authentically. I shared the good, the bad and the ugly. That brings me to another thought; you create the culture of your personal brand. I invite you to take out your journal and write down what your brand stands for.
Begin with the following thought to start you off >>> your brand is an extension of you, so what character traits are important to you. List what you want your brand to be known for and then expand into journaling on what your ideal Goddess Laptop Lifestyle™ business would look like.
Wishing you the courage to walk towards your fears, the sturdiness and determination of Taurus to manifest your desires into physical form, and the inner wisdom to discern what your ideal brand promise encompasses.
