What would happen if you took your foot off the brake and accelerated your life into living each and every day in alignment with your soul? Most likely it would be an amazing ride with lots of sharp curves and lots of steep hills. With the right tools and techniques you can take those curves and climb those hills with ease.
Thinking about rounding curves and climbing hills in life, especially at high speeds, is something that most of us don’t like to think about. We see curves and hills in life as scary things and often it will push us into fear mode. This type of FEAR can be explained by the acronym “False Evidence Appearing Real”. This FEAR is a limiting belief or a negative habitual thought that has been impressed upon our belief system that we in turn believe is true. This type of FEAR often has us turning around in the middle of the road and heading back the way we came, speeding back to our “comfort zone”.
When it comes to living each day in alignment with your soul most people will encounter lots of fear, especially in the beginning as you see the curves and steep hills ahead. I’ve been on both sides of that door. Finding your soul alignment/life purpose is nothing to be afraid of. There are many myths that society has taught us about what life purpose is or isn’t and often those myths disrupt the energetic flow of our soul alignment.
What does it actually mean to live in alignment with your soul? For each of us soul alignment has different qualities but there is one quality that is true for all of us and that is “When you are in alignment you will find peace at home, work and play”.
Too often we are led to believe that our work must be our life purpose and this is where most people get tripped up, discouraged and often will give up on their purpose. Why? Simply because of the word “work”.
When we hear the word “work” we often associate it with what we do to earn a living. This form of work is actually a verb meaning to labor, toil or exert; the physical act of doing work.
What’s often overlooked though is taking the time to explore the meaning of “work” as a noun. This meaning is referenced as an activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result. Ah, now that matches what we talk about when we speak of soul alignment and life purpose.
Many times the two definitions of work will cross. Meaning that a person may have a job that is also their life purpose. But more often than not, most people find that their work to earn a living is not their work for life purpose. Guess what? Not everybody is going to be earning a living in their life purpose but that doesn’t mean you are not in soul alignment. For others there may be parts of their job that has facets of their life purpose and they will be contently connected in soul alignment.
When I first started exploring my soul alignment/life purpose many years ago, I felt pressured into believing that I must earn a living doing my life purpose. In fact, I started to believe that if I wasn’t earning my income through my life purpose that I was not in soul alignment and therefore I had failed. Nobody told me during that period in my life that I could mingle the facets of both together so I found myself believing that I was a failure. In fact, nothing could have been further from the truth, but I didn’t know that then.
One day when I was completely down on myself and had developed the FEAR belief of being a failure, I ran across a webinar about soul alignment. I’m not sure why I decided to listen that day, but that day forever changed how I looked at my life purpose and soul alignment.
Your soul alignment and life purpose are not for someone else to tell you who you need to be or what you want to be doing in this world. It is up to you to decide who you want to be and what you want to be about. It’s not about what you want somebody else to do for you, but instead what you want to do for yourself. It’s about getting clear about your vision for your life and being at peace with it.
In this present time, space and place you are here to grow your abilities and your talents. Take the time to get clear about your vision and not the vision that society or somebody else tells you that you need to follow. Live your wild and precious life in alignment with your purpose and empower yourself to accomplish whatever you set your mind to do and in the process you will become your own message to the world. That my friend is empowered living.
