Honoring the Sacred Space Between No Longer and Not Yet

Honoring the Sacred Space Between No Longer and Not Yet by Dr. Debra Reble | #AspireMag

Just like there’s a space between one breath and another, there’s a sacred space between no longer and not yet. It’s a transformative space that arises when you move from one phase of your life to another. This energetic space allows you to integrate everything you’ve experienced and what you want to co-create in your future.

Honoring the space between no longer and not yet resonates with me on a deep level as 2021 has been a year of personal and planetary “in-between.” It’s been a transformative time of not just releasing the past; but liberating myself from it altogether.

In the past ten months, I have taken some courageous personal and professional leaps. I sold my Cleveland Heights home of thirty years, celebrated my daughter’s wedding, shifted to a virtual psychology/coaching practice, and packed up and moved to Sunset Beach, NC where I’m temporarily renting a condo while my new home is being built.

This sacred space has given me a moment to pause, breathe, and live my precious life without knowing what’s next. Yet, not knowing what’s next or having a plan used to terrify me. Reacting from past trauma, I was always prepared for the worst, hypervigilant in case something “bad” happened, and tried to control everything. Through my transformational soul work over the last thirty-six years, I’ve learned to override these old trauma reactions and trust the natural life cycle changes that occur in my life.

Sometimes these transitional breaks are short bursts and others are cycle changes that last for a while. Sometimes they’re clearly delineated and at other times can creep up on you when you least expect it. Sometimes you can stay way too long, resisting the spiritual growth that comes with such phases. Yet, no matter what, these purposeful pauses provide the sacred space to integrate the past and clarify what you want to create in the future.

Honor the space between no longer and not yet by taking a breath, release any anxiety, and allowing yourself to “just be.” Just because you have more time and space doesn’t mean you have to figure it out or fill the space right away. You don’t need to always know what’s next.

Trusting that “what’s next” will reveal itself in divine time isn’t always easy: but you trust that you will receive the divine downloads when they present themselves within the universe’s elevated timetable.

Revere this space by accepting all that has happened in your life without judgment or resistance. Acknowledge the twists and turns of your life with gratitude for how they have supported your soul’s evolution.

Here are 4 ways to honor the space between no longer and not yet:

Dwell on Your Blessings: Dwell on your blessings everyday even if some days you need to look harder. Noticing the positive moments in your life can bring you into experiences of awe, contentment, wonder, joy, love, warmth, inspiration, grace, happiness, and connectedness.  Give anything good that happens in your life your focused attention. Take a few minutes every day to consciously dwell on a positive experience that happened that day or at some other time. Whatever it is, give yourself a few minutes to contemplate it. Experience how you felt when it was happening. Doing this will elevate your energy and open the creational space for more blessings to come into your life.

Integrate Your Previous Experiences: Before you can begin a new phase in your life, you need to integrate your previous experiences and spiritually complete the current cycle you’re in. That’s because all of life’s experiences call for reflection and a tying up of loose ends. Often, you don’t see the significance of a life event or lesson until you have completed it. You may feel a sense of spiritual completion regarding any situation when you know in your heart of hearts, you have done your best. When you take time to integrate your previous experiences, you gain a perspective at a soul level of what has happened in your life. It can feel like you are letting go of one lifetime and opening to a new one.

Release Any Plans or Agendas: Let go of any preconceived plans or agendas, and embrace whatever comes your way. Surrender any expectations of how life should be, and focus your intentions on creating what you want it to be. Trying to forcing things to happen when they’re not spiritually ready has never worked for me and probably hasn’t worked for you either. Rather than attempting to control events through sheer force of will, embrace the experience, breathe deeply, and relax rather than resist. This will help you stay centered, peaceful, and make positive use of any situation that comes into your life. Accept where you are at this moment in your life, lean into the stillness and just be.

Be Open to Receive Divine DownloadsBeing open and aware, you can sense, feel, and intuit what resonates with your soul’s path. You shift from seeing things simply in physical terms to seeing why things happen from a spiritual perspective. As a result, you become open to receive the divine downloads in the form of intuitions, hunches, gut feelings, or physical sensations. You notice the divine signs that are always there to guide you. These whispers of spirit lead you to the highest version of yourself that is always guiding you on your soul’s path. It’s in these fully present moments where “what’s next” will be revealed.

Honor the sacred space between no longer and not yet. Take time to dwell on your blessings, integrate your life experiences, let go of any plans or agendas, and be open to receive divine downloads. Celebrate who you are and who you are becoming. Above all, welcome with an open heart the infinite possibilities of the universe in this sacred space of healing and creation.
