Within each of us is an untapped source of wisdom. The secret to accessing those pearls of wisdom is to create a daily practice that invites us to quiet our mind, BE in the moment, uncover the muck, and allow our soul to share its wisdom.
We all go through times of struggle and come face-to-face with our shadow sides. This affords us space to be with that energy instead of allowing it to remain unprocessed and stuffed down. It also empowers us to discover the emotional patterns and limiting beliefs that are asking to be released.
There are pearls of wisdom within this space waiting to be cultivated.
As a Certified Red Tent Facilitator, Certified Coach, and Spiritual Counselor & Healer trained in both Shamanic & Priestess Practices, I have been guiding my clients through rituals and practices such as the one I share here for many years. I have both witnessed, and personally experienced, the transformation waiting on the other side.
I share the following simple, yet transformational practice below and invite you to uncover your pearls of wisdom within.
2-part Cultivating the Pearls Practice:
Morning:
- Schedule sacred time for yourself. Start with 10-minutes if that’s all you have. What’s important is to begin. The early morning just as you awaken is an ideal time before the busyness of the day sets in and before you ‘plug in’ to technology and the outside world.
- Start by connecting with your breath. With intention, mindfully inhale taking in the light and energy of the new day. On the exhale, release the remnants of slumber and stagnant energy. Feel free to stretch your body as you continue your mindful breathing. Feel into the physical spaces of yourself and put a smile on your face. In this way, you entrain your energy and brain in a positive light.
- Reflective questions to ponder while connected with your breath. Start with “How do I wish to BE and feel as I move through the day?” Call in that vision.
- Envision yourself moving through the day in this state of BEing. As you continue the mindful breath process, envision your day unfolding from that place of Being—your power zone. Envision with as much details as possible.
- Allow a word or phrase to float to the surface of your mind. During this exercise a word or phrase will come to you. Allow it in. Turn it into an affirmation or mantra to help you stay aligned with your power zone throughout the day.
- Close out your mindful breathing practice and begin your day. Take the vision of BEing with you as well as your affirmation and mantra. Types it into your phone, write it in your journal, jot it down on a sticky note so it is easily accessible to you throughout the day.
Evening:
- Reflection and journal time. Give yourself a few minutes at the end of every day to review where your energy was. There are pearls of wisdom in this information. Were you in your power zone? If so, how did it make you feel? Did you use your affirmation and mantra? Or, were you pulled out of your power zone? Was there something you would like to do differently to redirect your energy should this happen again?
- Review your progress. I suggest occasionally reviewing your journal entries of the days you may have struggle to stay in your power zone. This will help you see any recurring patterns and create new supportive ones.
- Dedicate sacred time to explore what you have uncovered. Start by setting an intention and putting mindful action to replacing this defeating pattern with one that supports you in staying aligned with and in your personal power.
- Reach out for support when you need it. You aren’t alone. You aren’t the only one who has ever come face-to-face with their own shadow in some form or another. Just remember—we all have a shadow side, and we all have the light to move through it.
This is a very powerful practice! It is a transformative process that will help you move through your restrictive patterns with a shiny treasure of renewed sense of self-acceptance, self-trust, and self-love.
