Creating Abundance from the Inside Out

AbundanceAbundance is the result of living in the flow of love. It’s not something we acquire and hold on to, but rather a flow of energy we tune into and channel through our heart. Our mission is simply to sustain this flow of love, which confers many blessings and benefits, among them the potential to manifest our dreams.

A person who loves unconditionally sends out a high frequency vibration into the world, while someone who has difficulty loving emits a lower frequency. The spiritual law of attraction―which is also the law of love―suggests that the energy we emit expands and attracts more of the same energy in return. As love conduits, we sustain the circulation of loving energy through our positive thoughts, feelings, and choices that benefit ourselves and others.

We radiate love when we open our hearts to ourselves, other people, and life itself. This energy moves through space, is pulled into a field called gravity, and attracts matter. Such an energetic attraction becomes thought, which informs the body, and then information, which guides us to think, speak, feel, or act, and is the direct link to our soul. Channeled through our hearts, this energy transforms us into creational beings capable of manifesting our intentions to co-create an abundant life.

Every thought, feeling, word, and action you put forth is a memo to the universe. The invisible vibration of energy connects you to everyone and everything. In other words, you keep loving, positive energy in circulation by what you think, feel, say, and do, and the universe conspires with you. As a result of this circulation of energy, you naturally project love out into the world. And that vibrational energy attracts to you what you need for your intentions to manifest.

When you think positive and negative thoughts, each has a different effect on your surrounding environment. “I never have enough,” translates to “I’m not enough” which can trigger a self-destructive pattern of scarcity, fueling your need to control everything in your life and perpetuating your role as a victim. When your intentions align with your ego (brain), you create scarcity. On the other hand, when your intentions align with your heart, you create prosperity.

Creating a flow of abundance in our lives also requires a harmonious balance of giving and receiving without expectations or conditions. To give love more generously, we have to receive love more graciously. This mutual exchange of energy creates an abundance of all things good. To attract abundance, we have to let go of trying to control everything and trust that while like inevitably attracts like, it does so in keeping with its own divine timing.

This flow of energy is governed by the spiritual law of circulation. It states that we receive that which we give. It’s that simple. Yet, many of us think that we can create abundance by forcing something to happen or giving with an expectation that we should receive something in return.  Whether we are consciously aware of it or not, we often give our time, energy, even love with strings attached. Unfortunately, such expectations only set us up for disappointment when our will or conditional generosity doesn’t produce our expected results. Although our intentions may be good, we actually inhibit the natural flow of our energies by focusing on the outcome instead of trusting that we are creating exactly what we need at this particular time.

When we let go of the mindset that we deserve to receive gifts based on giving gifts, abundance can flow freely in and out of our lives. Sustaining this flow of abundance does not depend on some credit and debit spreadsheet. When we give and receive beyond any expectation, the harmonious balance of our energies is naturally restored. Moreover, we experience the flow of abundance when we give for the sake of giving, share for the sake of sharing, and love for the sake of loving.

The secret to creating a flow of abundance is whatever you most need, you must give. Through such exchanges of love, you begin to realize that you have an infinite amount of creational energy to share, and an untapped soul potential to manifest whatever you need or desire. Acknowledging the blessings you already have can shift your mindset of lack and open you to intentions of abundance. Such energetic exchanges generate more positive energy and multiply exponentially when your intentions are aligned for a greater good. When we truly love ourselves, we do not envy the good fortune of others; instead, we trust that there is enough love, success, joy, and abundance to go around.

Here are six practices to create abundance from the inside out:

  1. Practice Heart-Centered Attention. Close your eyes, place a hand on the center of your chest, and focus your attention on your heart. As you inhale, breathe in love of yourself, and as you exhale, breathe out any fear of scarcity. Now fill your heart space with gratitude for who you are, what you already have, and release without judgment any thoughts or feelings that surface.
  2. Declare an intention clearly, and then make discerning choices to manifest it. Select words or phrases that represent your intention, write the intention on a Post-it note, and place it wherever you will notice it. Each time you see the intention, put light energy around it and affirm it to yourself. Witness yourself abundant and powerful, creating choices that align with your soul’s journey. Then, when you are given the opportunity in your life, make the inspired choices that will manifest your intention.
  3. Take great pleasure in giving and receiving. This keeps your abundance flowing and in energetic circulation. “Pay it forward” by buying coffee for someone in line behind you, or give a gift on a whim, simply to make someone feel good. Check in with yourself: Do you have any difficulty receiving love in the form of compliments, gifts or kindness? If you do, practice saying thank you when someone compliments you and graciously receive gifts or acts of kindness.
  4. Give without expectations or conditions. When you give a gift, pay a bill, or offer to assist someone, ask yourself: Is there something you unconsciously hope to receive in return? As you write a check or hit the pay button, visualize it going out on beams of love blessing yourself and the other person or persons. You may find it difficult divesting yourself of your expectations and may need to look within to find the root of your inability to give and receive unconditionally.
  5. Live in a constant stream of gratitude. A gratitude practice can shift any mindset of scarcity and open you to abundance in all ways. Wake up every morning with a sense of appreciation and a healthy anticipation for what the universe has in store for you. Over the course of the day, keep a journal of things for which you’re grateful. Enhance the practice by repeating the mantra, “I am a blessed being,” or, “I bless myself, my fellow human beings, and the earth.”
  6. Be aware and shift your negative mindsets and beliefs of scarcity. Trust yourself in connection with your divine source. Replace negative thoughts such as “I don’t have enough” with positive affirmations such as: “I am love,” “I am an abundant being,” and “I trust that I create all that I need.” Repeat these affirmations throughout the day, focus your attention on the positive events in your life, and become aware of the divine synchronicities.

This mutual exchange of loving energy creates a flow of abundance in our lives. For us to love more, we have to allow more love in. The most important aspect of this mutual exchange is sustaining the flow of positive energy, not the form it takes. Opening our hearts creates a flow of abundance that stands alone, separate from any and all conditions. It is an energetic gift in and of itself which brings us blessings a million times over.

When we channel love and create what we want in alignment with what is best for ourselves, others, and our world, this flow becomes a spiritual path that leads to living joyfully, abundantly, and well.
