When was the last time you had a good cry? The really good down and dirty cry? The kind of cry that gives you really good sobs at the end of it? The kind of cry that at the end it takes four or five inhales to get a complete breath in? The kind of cry that allows you to fully surrender?
These kind of cries can actually be re-invigorating. If you are living with strength and courage against all kind of odds and you know that one more thing ~ just one more thing might break you. Then, break now. Allow yourself the gift of fully surrendering to the emotions that you are so desperately trying to hold back.
You have so much to do and you don’t have time for this, right?  You want to get things done and nothing seems to be going your way then maybe that’s the Universe’s way of saying it’s time you surrendered and trusted that everything will turn out okay.
It’s okay to go down that spiral every once in awhile. Really. It is. Those cries allow you to let go of stuff you were holding onto so desperately. It also allows you to let go of things you didn’t even know you were holding onto. It’s GOOD to let go of the anxiety and stress that has obviously been finding a nice home inside of you without even being asked to come in!
Water is the element that is closely associated with our emotions. It is only natural that when emotions run high, we need to honor that by shedding a tear or two ~ or even three. Â
And, It’s good to know how to surrender into emotion ~if you have a compass that can guide you when you come out of it. There is a simple process that to use when you find myself crying like this.
As the crying dissipates and the sobs take over, the RECOVERY FROM THE ART OF CRYING BEGINS. This is the time that you can learn so much and heal from within. It’s important to take this time of surrender and allow it to propel you forward.
FIRST: Grab your journal and start writing everything you are thinking.
- I can’t do that.  Nothing is going right. Things are TOO BIG.
- Who am I to think that I could accomplish this?
- How am I EVER going to get THAT done?
- When is it going to end?
Sound familiar? Well, write it down….all of it. The primary reason is to get it OUT OF YOUR HEAD.
SECOND: Pull ONE an oracle or angel card to focus on after you have written everything down. Cards like these bring wisdom to you and pull you into the present time.
THIRD:Â Sit with your journal and attack those inner gremlins of your mind.
- Of COURSE, I can do that ~ I’ve done it before.
- I CAN accomplish that because I AM talented.
- I am going to get it accomplished by doing one step at a time with focus so as not to allow other things in my way.
And, in the end, you will discover that you are not defined by your emotions. You are not all of those thoughts. You are a bright and loving spirit.
The stress that was housed in your body and the gremlins that were taking over your mind are gone. And, you can now look at challenges and situations with renewed inspiration and spirit. Â Faith returns and you will be able to see answers that you were unable to see before that will solve challenges and lead you toward having more clarity, more peace-of-mind and more joy.
So, Surrendering is good. It allows you to release so that you can renew so the next time you feel like you area holding in all those tears….go ahead….let them out and cry a good cry! Â
