When we think about visibility, we think about being seen. Visibility is a critical component of client attraction. Most business owners spend a great deal of time working on visibility as part of their marketing by posting on social media, writing articles, doing videos, speaking live, participating in summits and webinars, and placing ads. But being seen is only the first step to achieving visibility. Your business must also be notable, make a positive impression, and successfully communicate your message to make an impact. It is about being noticed and remembered not just being seen.
The Human Design Chart has a lot to say about visibility. There are five aspects of your Human Design that can assist you in achieving your visibility goals. Your Human Design holds insight into how you can unlock your natural visibility, how you are wired to make an impactful expression, your natural image as seen by others, your notoriety, what people will remember you for, and your style of communication. Understanding these aspects of your Human Design can help give you an edge as you work on your business visibility.
The 5 Aspects of Visibility in Your Human Design
1. The Sun: Your Natural Visibility Superpower
You have a natural way of being that makes you more visible when you show up in that energy. Your natural visibility superpower can be found in the gate that resides in your conscious sun. If you look at your chart, this is the first symbol on the right side of the body graph (☉). The gate that resides in your Sun represents about 70% of your personality including the secret sauce, or superpower, you possess to “unlock” your natural visibility.
Each gate’s energy has a high expression and a low expression. If you show up in the highest expression of your sun’s energy, people will naturally notice you. All you must do is show up authentically!
For example, my sun is in gate 8. Gate 8 is Fulfillment or Authenticity. My superpower as defined in this gate is Uniqueness. When I show up with originality, I will be noticed. When I show up in the lower expression of this energy, which is imitation, or copying others, I will be much less noticeable.

2. The Planet Mercury : Your Most Impactful Expression
We look to the Human Design gate that resides in the planet Mercury ☿ on the right side of the body graph to increase our ability to be heard. Mercury rules Communication. This energy helps people understand why they should listen to you. This is an important aspect of how we get people’s attention and how we connect with them. There is a genius here, a way of expressing yourself that will draw people to you. You only need to express this genius by being in the highest expression of the energy you have in Mercury.
For example, my Mercury is Gate 23, the gate of Transmission. The highest expression is simplicity, the lowest is over-complicating. My most impactful expression is when I make things simple by looking at the bigger perspective and breaking things down to make them easier to digest. This is when my communication is most impactful, and I am most visible.
3. AC Rising :Your Image.
Your rising sign, or the planet that was on the eastern horizon when you were born is where the energy of your image lives. This is a little tougher to get at as it is not listed on the standard Human Design Chart, but you can find it in an astrology chart. The planet here gives us insight into how others perceive us. When you show up in the highest expression of this energy, you will be perceived as either an expert, a friend, a mentor, or a leader.
4. Mid-Heaven: Your Notoriety: What You Are Known For
Mid-Heaven is another point from astrology in Human Design. It gives us insight into the business benefit people will see in you, or your special sauce. The mid-heaven point is at the 12 o’clock point in your astrology chart. Your notoriety might be your originality, your experience, or the solutions you come up with. Speaking of these characteristics or using them in what you talk about will help people to see alignment between the energy they feel from you and what you say and do. This helps build trusted relationships and helps others see how you can help them.
5. The Throat Center: Your Communication Style
The throat center in Human Design is the source of our communication and expression. The previous aspects we discussed give us insight into what we can do to show up as our best, authentic, and most impactful selves. This is important so you can be seen and heard with the greatest impact naturally.
The throat center helps us understand more about how we do it. The throat is how we express ourselves, build connections, relationships, speak and move into action. If your throat center is defined, meaning colored in on your chart, then you have a fixed way of communicating and a consistent tone to your voice. People with defined throat centers are confident communicators. They speak clearly about any of the centers that have a direct connection to the throat center with the red and or black channel lines.
If your throat center is open, meaning it is white and not colored in on your chart, you are able to absorb and amplify other people’s communication energy in addition to having your own. You are very good at speaking for the group and the tone of your voice is not consistent and may be more expressive. People with an open throat can speak too much trying to be heard or hold back and not speak at all.
Having an awareness of your natural visibility and staying authentic and in the highest expression of your energies will help to naturally help you be seen, heard and clearly visible.
