Creating a captivating vision of the life you want is one of the most effective strategies for achieving the life of your dreams. The best way to look at it, is using your vision as a compass to guide you to make the best decisions, and take the best actions that will help propel you toward your bigger and fuller life. A Life Vision Statement will create a clearer path for your life.
This has been very useful for me when I have felt overwhelm because I had to make difficult and/or scary decisions. I discovered how powerful it is to have a clear Life Vision Statement at hand, as the decision making process becomes much easier, since I will always make the decision based on what is in alignment with the life I want.
One of the traits that all successful and fulfilled people share in common, is that they really cultivate passion and enthusiasm for life. We all need a compelling vision for our lives, and it has to be powerful so we feel driven to do whatever it takes to achieve it.
To create a vision for our life, we have to begin by identifying our values, knowing what our passions are, being aware, or at least have a sense of what our purpose is, and then, having clarity of what we envision for our lives.
Our Vision will be our “Why” because we’ll be able to get really clear on what we want and all that it entails. We’ll be able to see past today and any current limitations, as it opens our minds to the infinite possibilities of the future, and gives us hope for a bigger and fuller life.
Our ultimate Vision flows from acknowledging that we have a unique purpose on this planet. So, how do you create your Life Vision Statement? I invite you to follow these simple steps and give it a try:
1. Pick a place that inspires you, and where you won’t be interrupted so you can tune in with yourself.
2. Don’t play small – Make sure your Vision is big enough and interesting enough to really get you motivated and excited. Remember, your greatest vision for your life will always be outside of your comfort zone.
3. Use a Self-Reflective question – Ask yourself “What do I want to create in my life?” Based on your values, what motivates you? What would you like your life to look like? and then answer: “Why?”.
4. Write it as if it is happening in the present – The mind only deals with the present – the now. You can start by stating “I am so happy and grateful now that…”
5. Charge your Vision with emotion – make sure you use words that have power to move you to action.
6. Add details – Your Vision should have specifics of the results you want to achieve in your life and the feelings you want to experience. Don’t waste time and energy trying to make it perfect, just write it in a way that excites you.
7. Create a Vision Board – This will add more value and power to the Life Vision Statement, because you’ll be able to see it and connect with it visually. You can download my “7 Steps to Creating Your Unique Vision Board” by clicking here. My Gift to you!
Consciously reaffirming your vision by reading it every day, and rewriting it as often as possible, will strengthen the image in your mind. Next time you’re faced with a tough decision to make, you can read your Life Vision Statement and look at your Vision Board, and you’ll know if your decision will be aligned with your vision or not.
A Life Vision Statement is meant to be lived, so I invite you to use these easy tools to step into your greatness and consciously start creating and moving into a life you love – the life you came here to live!
