6 Soul Inspiring Rumi Quotes for Your Authentic Life

6 Soul Inspiring Rumi Quotes for Your Authentic Life by Peggy Nolan | #AspireMag

Do you ever feel like your ignoring something deep within you?

Are you tired of feeling worn out from the inside? Are you bogged down with the everyday-ness of bills, work, kids, and chores?

Do you wish you knew how to bring back the joy, happiness, and super stellar-ness that seems to elude you?

Don’t worry.

Many women face these struggles but the ones who break free of the rut and go on to live happier, more joyful lives seek guidance and help from wise sages, teachers, and coaches.

Today I’m going to help you begin to find your authentic life with these six inspiring quotes from Rumi.

“What matters is how quickly you do what your soul wants.”

I’m a bit of a slow learner but when I allowed myself the time and the silence to listen to what my soul wants, and I mean really listen, it was as if the skies parted and the angels sang… or rather they laughed and giggled because I finally got it.

I stopped listening to all those well intentioned people who wanted me to live my life based on their expectations and opinions and shoulds. Instead, I turned within because,

“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.”

Even when the doing seems hard or when the doing produces less than stellar results, something inside says, “keep going… you’re on the right track.”

Maybe you feel it — when you don’t do things from your soul, discontent rages underneath your surface as if coarse sandpaper is grating against the inside of your skin and you can’t quite put your finger on why.

Your mind races to blame someone, anyone for this disturbing discontent.

But what if this discontent simply comes from living an in-congruent, inauthentic life?

“That which is false troubles the heart, but truth brings joyous tranquility.”

You’re living an inauthentic life when you know you’re in the wrong relationship but choose to stay because you’re too afraid to leave.

You’re living an incongruent life when you’re in the wrong job or wrong line of work but think you have to stay because everyone’s expecting you to “make good with your life.”

You’re living inauthentically when you know, deep within your soul, you’re living your life on auto-pilot rather than on purpose.

When you live your truth and do what brings you joy, you will discover an eternal spring of joyous tranquility that you will never again give up… no matter who or what tries to convince you otherwise.

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”

Perhaps someone you loved deeply hurt you. A parent, a spouse, or someone close broke trust, sliced and diced you with ugly words, or abandoned you. And you with your gaping wound thought the world would end until it didn’t and you allowed your wound to scab over.

The experience scarred you but it also transformed you, filling you with a light that was never there before.

Lightness can only enter in through darkness. Love seeps in through the cracks.

“Love is the vital core of the soul. And of all you see, only love is infinite.”

Your soul is here to love and be love and to experience infinite joy.

I remember when my sister-in-law was dying. I remember the hospital room, the whir of machines that tracked her vital signs. I remember stroking her brown hair, holding her hand, and looking into her dark brown eyes as we spoke our last conversation.

With her crusty exterior shield of protection from all that had damaged her no longer present, I could only see this undeniable light that shined from beyond her eyes. I knew, without a doubt, that I was in the presence of a vast, infinite love and for the first time since I had known her, I saw and felt her soul.

Don’t wait until you’re on your deathbed to allow your infinite and authentic love light to shine because,

“LOVE is the bridge between you and EVERYTHING.”

What would happen if you no longer believed fear or anger or bitterness was the bridge between you and everything?

What would your life look like if you believed, truly believed, that love was the bridge between you and everything?

Grab your journal, a piece of paper, a napkin even and jot down your thoughts. Bonus points if you leave a comment and share this with your friends.
