5 Ways Reiki Supports You in Your Everyday Life

5 Ways Reiki Supports You in Your Everyday Life by Yvette LeFlore | #AspireMag

Reiki restores balance to your body, mind, and spirit, helping you meet daily challenges with steady support and boosting your overall well-being.

We live full lives. While the hope is for joy, life often brings pivots, changes, and ends of cycles. Reiki supports you by raising your energy levels, making the highs more enjoyable and the lows more manageable.

Reiki Can Help the Nervous System Settle

A settled nervous system helps the body heal, and the mind function more easily. During a session, you may notice your breathing even out or you may take a “Reiki nap,” which helps rebalance your system.

With a settled system, your shoulders drop, your tongue relaxes, and your body feels safer and less alert.

Reiki Can Quiet and Clear the Mind

This settling lets you move from mind to body. Calm stillness can quiet scattered thoughts and improve focus, making decision-making feel less rushed and more centered.  Your focus can be singular.

When I say focusing on one thing, I don’t mean the overthinking and spinning of the wheel, thinking that might plague you before a Reiki session. I mean thinking one thing through and then moving on to the next.

Imagine if your to-do list didn’t pull at you but sat quietly, ready for a focused mind.

If you replay conversations in your head, you can quiet them. Rather than focusing on regrets or missed words, you can breathe and view the situation more clearly.

Brain fog can be reduced when overstimulation and ping-ponging thoughts slow down.

Reiki Can Help with Emotional Flow

When your system is on overdrive, even little things can feel like a tidal wave of emotion. You recognize that “this little thing” shouldn’t bother you, but you can’t help the spiral. Reiki helps restore flow to your system, lessening the impact of overwhelm and turning challenges into manageable obstacles.

A settled system gives you space to pause before reacting. Many have a short fuse; softening your system can help you respond more calmly, benefitting parenting, partnering, and caregiving.

You’ve heard the expression, “Don’t say to yourself what you wouldn’t say to a friend,” right? But when you are emotionally loaded, the way you speak to yourself often devolves to an unloving voice. The relaxation from Reiki can help improve your patience with yourself and others.  The return of that friendly voice benefits you and others in so many ways.

Reiki Can Bring Inner Calm and Peace

Whether your session is in-person or remote, you’ll feel calmer when it ends. If you take before-and-after photos, you’ll probably notice brighter eyes, a relaxed face, and a lighter appearance.

You may feel as though you’ve lost weight. Releasing the emotional and mental weight you’ve been carrying feels like a physical release. That release can give you a lightness in your step you didn’t have before your appointment started.

This calm can also help you reconnect with your body.  If you were living in your head, you may have been disconnected from your body (other than any aches and pains it presented), and this reconnection will feel like “coming home.”

Reiki Can Connect You to Your Intuition

With your mind calm, your body relaxed, and your nervous system aligned, you become more open to connecting with your intuition.  You’ve cleared a pathway to connect with your inner self.  This clarity allows you to receive the messages so you can go with your gut and connect with your sixth sense.

Connecting with your intuition gives you the opportunity to stay ahead of potential challenges because you are listening to what’s in your best interest.

There are books written about Reiki and its benefits.  This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the benefits of a Reiki session. When you choose to receive regular sessions, the benefits compound. It’s like going to the gym regularly. Think of Reiki sessions as the energetic gym without the heavy lifting or cardio.
