Since we left our mother’s womb and took our first breath, it is considered that we are alive, but are we really? We are living beings with free will and consciousness, but are we really aware of ourselves? Aware of the miracle that means being alive? Are we really awake, or just going through the motions, not really living?
These questions may seem trivial until we consider the importance of attitude in life. In life, our attitude defines the outcomes we get. If we embrace life being aware of our limitless power and being conscious that we are part of a universe that works in perfect harmony, it will be easier to adopt an attitude of a holistic healthy living so we can live from a state in which we allow flow and to experience our fullest potential.
To live is to enjoy every single moment, laugh, love, be authentic, be creative, be curious, forgive, feel freedom, do what you love, and repeat non-stop. The whole point is that we need to enjoy the simple fact of being alive – smile at life every time you see a sunrise or a sunset, the beauty of a flower, the innocence of a child, the unconditional love of a pet, when you hear the music of a bird chirping, and love your essence reflected in your fellow humans when you see acts of random kindness for others.
Living is not only becoming aware of the spark of life that exists within you and those around you, but also, being aware of the source of life that feeds you with every single breath that you take. We take so many things for granted, but really, being alive is such a beautiful miracle!
Allowing the space for spontaneity in our lives, so we can connect with the flow of life, will allow wonders to manifest in our lives. But most of the times we let fear get in the way, whether it’s fear about going deep and getting to really know ourselves, or fear of suffering in any way, when we are not aware of it, we will be limiting ourselves to experience life to the fullest expression.
In order to connect with life, follow these simple tips:
Know who you really are – The most direct way to get in touch with the joy of living is through the awareness that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience and that as such, we’re perfect, whole and complete. Living an authentic, meaningful, joyful and balanced life is your birthright!
Be present – The past is gone. Feel the power from the present to experience the totality of your being now. Feel your presence, honor it and enjoy it. The power to create and take actions towards your dreams is in the present moment. As you connect consciously, you connect with your inner power, from which you can manifest the most wonderful reality that you are able to imagine.
Be grateful – Having a grateful attitude towards life expands our consciousness, we feel we can achieve what we set out, and it fills us with optimism and hope. Taking the perspective of gratitude allows you to see more and more things to be grateful for. Gratitude allows us to focus on the real, and what is essential to achieve anything we want, since it puts us in touch with the source of all creation, and all we need is available to us.
Have a Vision for your life – Having a clear vision of where you want to go, and having the trust and confidence that you’ll get there, will put you halfway to achieving your goals. What is your purpose in life? What will fulfill you and add meaning to your life? If you start with a clear vision of what you want, it will be easy to answer these questions as you go. Give yourself permission to want a bigger life, claim your birthright to live a meaningful life, and remember to always think big so you can keep growing and expanding.
Be aware of yourself – Be aware of your thoughts, words, feelings and actions, as well as your responses to external stimuli, and be able to understand how they arise. Be aware that you create your own reality. Become a silent observer of yourself, observe without judgment, accept yourself the way you are now. The more attention you pay to this, the more energized, and the easier it is to stay connected to the magnificence of life. Live in the present moment, using the power of now to express the fullness of your being.
Our perception of what we are is related to: the stimuli perceived by our senses and the way we interpret them. So monitor your feelings and emotions, your intentions (what you want or desire), and your reactions or responses. We just have to stay aware. Being aware of ourselves requires being aware of both what happens inside of us and what happens outside simultaneously.
With just a little practice we develop the habit of staying alert and aware automatically, and reap the benefits which include:
- Increased awareness of who we really are.
- Increasing the options to express ourselves and live our lives to the fullest of our potential.
- More opportunities to share with others from an authentic place (from who we really are).
- Increased self-esteem and self-confidence.
- Be in direct connection with the source of life that flows within us.
Think about it, caterpillars don’t grow wings, only when they risk to enclose themselves in a cocoon can they be transformed into an amazing butterfly so they can fly freely. Are you willing to go on the adventure of entering the cocoon of your inner being to recover the wings that are your birthright? Do you have your flight plan ready?
