“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. . . .There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” ~ Rachel Carson
Human life parallels the seasons and cycles of nature. Having an awareness of the cycles of life affords you a spiritual clarity that promotes healing and a sense of wholeness. In the natural world, cycles perpetuate life, such as the changing seasons, the rings of trees, the spirals of shells, and the rising and setting of the sun. They exist because of nature’s forces and reflect healthy growth and transformation.
In fact, the spiritual “law of cycles” governs such rhythms of life. It gives us an insight into how these circles, orbits, and spirals of time loop back on themselves in endless repeating patterns. We can take advantage of these spiritual opportunities, set new intentions, and conspire with the divine energies of the universe. This lets us attune with what’s in alignment with our soul’s path and what isn’t. Moreover, it’s absolutely key to understanding and flowing with the cycles of life.
We are moving through such life-death-rebirth cycles like nothing we’ve ever experienced before. That’s because we are completing our past at soul level. When we spiritually complete a pattern or life cycle, we release it energetically. For instance, patterns and cycles are circular so we can visualize cosmic pinking scissors cutting the pattern, straightening it out like a path, and then walking off of it. This process cuts the energetic ties we have to this karmic pattern or person. It signals to the universe that we have energetically completed a certain life cycle or soul contract. This sense of completion frees us to open the door to new beginnings.
Once we spiritually complete a cycle, it actually becomes a “past life;” yet, we remain in the same physical body. Like the phoenix rising out of the ashes, we can flow with these cycles of life to rise and shine in a new way. These life-death-rebirth cycles aren’t an act of finality, but one of transition and spiritual growth. Such cycles run together like watercolors on a white canvas, an ending merging with a new beginning.
Before you can begin any new phase in your life, you have to complete the current cycle you’re in. That’s because all of life’s experiences call for completion. Often, you don’t see the significance of a life event or lesson until you have experienced such completion. Yet, you feel a sense of spiritual completion regarding any situation when you know in your heart, you have done your best.
Lately, I’ve been moving through my own life-death-rebirth cycle. A couple of weeks ago, I signed the papers closing on the sale of my Cleveland home of 30 years. What divine timing to close one cycle and open a new one on my sacred birthday! At the same time, I began my move to Sunset Beach, NC. Since I was a little girl, I have wanted to be near the ocean. Nothing gives me more joy than a walk on the beach and hearing the surf crash on the shore. The beach speaks to my soul and I’ve manifested an intention that I’ve had all of my life. There’s an amazing sense of peace that comes with knowing that every new cycle brings with it an opportunity for my soul’s evolution.
Here are 5 Sacred Ways to Flow with the Cycles of Life:
1.Observe Nature’s Cycles: Notice the parallels in your own life to appreciate how your physical existence is based on such cycles. Create personal rituals based on the seasons, the cycles of the moon, or the cycle of each day. For example, sunrise is a time for opening to fresh possibilities and new beginnings. Whatever has happened in the past is wiped clean and you begin anew. On the other hand, as the sun dips below the horizon, it’s a time of releasing and freeing yourself from any resentments, grievances, or disappointments. This practice will continuously clear any residual energy from the day that can lead to energy blocks.
2.Engage in Energetic Feng Shui: Clearing your environments, inner and outer, of negative or stagnant energy supports a healthier, more harmonious life. When things are “energetically out of alignment” in your environment, it drains your overall energy. The more you acquire in your life, the more energy it takes to maintain it. Make a list of the things you are tolerating in your environment such as: overloaded drawers and closets, bills not paid, or mementos from past relationships. Commit to crossing off a sizable part of this list such as 25% in the next two weeks. You will be amazed at how much energy you will feel by doing this. As you work your way through the list, set up systems so you won’t need to spend as much time on maintenance in the future.
3.Clear the Energy of the Past: Clear your life not only of outdated clothes and household items, but also of unhealthy relationships, negative beliefs, and toxic environments. Release anyone or anything that isn’t aligned with your soul’s journey. Holding onto your past can potentially lead to energy blocks. Unless you let the past go, you will continue dealing with whatever needs to be released. Therefore, it’s necessary to let everything from the past be—both the positive and negative, the things that you cherish and draw strength from, as well as those no longer appropriate to your being. Trust that anything with a negative pull will be released, and that the value from your positive experiences will linger within your heart.
4.Practice Blessing and Releasing: Take a moment, close your eyes, and put your attention at your heart. Open your heart, visualize the person or situation in a ball of white light. Now bless them or it for showing you an unhealed aspect of yourself. Wrap yourself in a spiral of white light beginning at the top of your head and slowly moving down through your body to your feet. As you do, clear any negative thoughts, choices, or energies as if you were whisking them out of your energy field. Then, visualize this spiral of white light energy expanding outward from your body to the outer reaches of your energy field. Release any negative energy or potential negative situations you feel here. Open and expand your heart even more and beam love out into your life. Put your intentions into the creational space that was created with your release and visualize them manifesting in your life.
5.Follow the Spiritual Breadcrumbs: Like Hansel and Gretel walking through the enchanted forest, you can follow the spiritual breadcrumbs that are there to guide you. Following these spiritual guideposts bypasses thinking and awakens an inner knowing through your heart. When you are consciously aware, these divine clues help you to flow with the cycles of life. Be aware and open to such inspired choices that show up in your life and can appear from “out of the blue.” These choices create an even better outcome than you can imagine and align with your soul’s path. They not only elevate your vibration, but also the well-being of the planet and all its inhabitants. Each inspired choice you make serves yourself as well as others’ highest and greatest good.
Here’s a mantra for this transformative time: My soul awakens to a new life.
Embrace this time of profound transformation. Lean into it with your heart and soul. Mostly, take precious care of yourself in the process. Keep in mind that every day you are presented with situations that challenge you to flow with the cycles of life for improved health, enhanced well-being, and increased spiritual growth. When this flow remains open, you ultimately create this current of positive energy in your relationships and your life.
