We all have had that pit that you feel deep inside alerting you to something being amiss. That knowing is often referred to as intuition. There are many forces at play in your understanding and acknowledgement of the change in vibration of the universe and your energy field that makes up your intuition.
First it is important to note that we are all interconnected. My energy field melds and merges with that of those around me. I am certain you have been around someone with bad energy and you can feel that as soon as you walk into the room. I have felt that about places I have worked. As soon as I walk into the building, I have known whether or not I would end up working there just by the feel and how that interacted with my own internal compass.
Intuition is too easy to dismiss as nervousness or anxiety. And those who express a feeling are often judged as being dramatic or overreacting. Let me explain the difference between the hemispheres of the brain and how each controls thinking. The left-brain is the linear, logical tangible thought center that says there is always a scientific explanation. This side of the brain generates judgment and guilt that feeds the ego also. (I am always telling myself to get out of my left brain.) The right-brain is the esoteric, creative thought center. This side of the brain hears intuition, message from spirit and enables you to see, hear and feel things that you cannot touch. When I receive message from spirit, it comes in the form of a download to my right-brain.
Start listening to the intuition that is coming through to you. By listening, you create the opportunity to grow your intuition and learn to use it for your highest good. Keep these three tips in mind when you encounter an opportunity to access and accept your intuition.
- Trust Yourself. We have all thought, no… I just made that up, or I am being neurotic… NO – you aren’t. If you have a concern, it is always worth exploring. It may turn out that it is no big deal, but by listening you learn to discern. The more you listen to your intuition, the clearer the message becomes. This discernment will allow you to recognize difference between right and left brain messages.
- Strengthen Your Intuition Muscle. Ask out loud for guidance. When you are at a crossroads, be it simple or significant, ask the universal knowledge to guide you. This may show up as help from an unexpected source, or a direct message from your spirit guides, but the universe definitely honors the ask and you shall receive adage. This skill is just like any, the more practice you have, the stronger it gets. But this isn’t like physical muscle memory, practice in any form moves your forward. Just try, it’s kind of fun when others think you are a little nuts.
- Honor Your Boundaries. When something just doesn’t feel right, respect that feeling of misalignment or discord. The boundary that you consciously create is not necessarily the same as the one your intuition will observe. I always listen to my intuition when it alerts to me to a negative energy that I can’t see or wasn’t previously aware of. My soul feels the vibration that my human experience so often blocks.
Don’t discredit messages from your intuition, spirit or your higher self – whatever you call it. It is far more wise than we give it credit for. Listen to yourself and get out of your left brain – if even for a minute!
