What would it mean if you could come home to your heart and live in alignment with your soul’s path?

In 10 Sacred Keys for Soul-Hearted Living, I give you the heart-centered principles from waking in the morning to intending, affirming, and walking in grace every day. What I refer to as soul-hearted is a flow of divine energy sustained through your heart and expressed as soul through your human experience. Using these principles, you will realize your natural ability to tap this divine energy source, create the fullest expression of yourself, and share this inspired experience of life with others. Applying these principles will open you to a more positive energy flow which brings about clarity, vitality, happiness, and well-being. Ultimately, this flow of energy becomes your spiritual path that leads to living joyfully, abundantly, and well.

Sacred Key #1: Trusting Ourselves and Our Connection to Source

We are connected to a divine energy field that flows through each of us and can consciously plug into this energy source through prayer or meditation, being in nature, or simple mindfulness. Through this connection to our source, we are in touch with our infinite nature as love, and live each day as a sacred meditation.

When we trust ourselves and our connection to source, we let go of controlling our life and allow the unfolding of it. We know that our spirit is stronger than any situation we can possibly face and with every setback comes even greater personal transformation. With such a spiritual perspective, we perceive problems, challenges, and difficulties as stepping stones for such change. Most of all, we trust that we are the co-creators of our reality and capable of manifesting our intentions.

Sacred Key #2: Expanding Our Conscious Awareness

 Conscious awareness is our intuitive ability to tune in to the spiritual information which provides us with a broader perspective from which to make better life choices. It helps us notice appreciate, and pay attention to our thoughts, feelings, and sensations in any given moment.We are fully present, mindful, and notice the beauty and wonder in the world around us.

By using conscious awareness, we can access a greater wealth of information to support our spiritual growth and well-being. In doing this we begin to shift from viewing things simply in physical terms to seeing why things happen from a spiritual perspective. Being consciously aware strengthens our sense of connection with others and the universe so that we know we are not alone on our soul’s journey through life.

 Sacred Key #3: Opening Our Hearts

 Opening our hearts unlocks the door to unconditional love and the light within us. When we open our hearts, we receive spiritual information about who we are and our soul’s path. We become conduits for transmitting and receiving divinely inspired information which guides us to use this energy to co-create our reality.

The strongest electromagnetic field of energy in the human body emanates from the heart center. When we open our hearts, we generate a high frequency energy that brings body, mind, and spirit into harmonic resonance. It not only helps us awaken us to our authentic selves, but also leads to self-healing. We can tune in to this energy for living in alignment with our soul’s journey.

Sacred Key #4: Embracing Our Vulnerabilities

Embracing our vulnerabilities allows us to know the essence of ourselves, which is love. Connecting with our innermost selves is the catalyst for exposing and releasing the negative beliefs, unhealthy patterns, and emotional reactions that inhibit us from experiencing our authentic selves and living an abundant, joyful and balanced life. At the same time, it infuses our lives with spiritual depth, bringing us closer to the light at our core. Instead of avoiding or resisting pain, we give ourselves permission to lean into our tender places, and stay with their feelings until we unblock our energies freeing this energy to create what we truly want in our life.

Sacred Key #5: Sustaining a Perspective of Gratitude

Sustaining a perspective of gratitude releases a continuous stream of love energy that supports spiritual clarity, and creativity; strengthens the immune system, eliminates energy blocks, and diminishes fear, stress, and negativity.  It assists us in going with the flow, transcending difficult circumstances, and keeping a positive outlook. Our overall quality of life improves because we wake up each day with a sense of appreciation and a healthy anticipation for what the universe has in store for us. We accept life as it comes, and are grateful we are getting exactly what we need to spiritually grow at any given moment. Most of all, when we open our hearts in gratitude, fear, anger, and negativity cannot co-exist with this high vibrational energy.

Sacred Key #6: Practicing Loving-Kindness and Compassion with Ourselves and Others

Practicing loving-kindness and compassion with ourselves and others allows us to fully acknowledge our inherent worth. Moreover, accepting ourselves with all our weaknesses and imperfections cultivates compassion toward ourselves and others. As kindness and compassion are expressions of love, and love is the most powerful force known to us, this connection is undeniable. The more we are willing to give it to ourselves, the more we can be loving kind, and compassionate with others.

We generate a high vibrational energy that overrides negativity with love. We are highly aware of the level of energy we bring to any moment and trust that the simple act of putting our attention on our heart center and emitting love energy raises their vibration. Through sustaining an open heart and emanating love, we give off a high vibrational frequency even in the midst of chaos and disharmony.

Sacred Key #7: Letting Go and Forgiveness

Letting go and forgiveness renews connection, enhances our compassion, and allows us to create a clean slate so we can begin anew. It consistently clears negative energy by releasing any thoughts, emotions, or energies which may ultimately create energy blocks. It also frees us from the past and opens the energetic space for us to create a better future. This sustains unconditional love and connectedness with others which engenders positive health benefits.

Forgiveness also promotes well-being because it is associated with the ability to regulate and release our negative emotions. Through forgiveness, we can clear any negative emotions that block trust and intimacy in our relationships. Mostly, the more we forgive ourselves, the more we find it easier to forgive others.

Sacred Key #8: Creating an Energetic Support Team.

Most of us discover at some point in our lives that the only thing that really matters is spending time with those we love. It is crucial to surround ourselves and spend time with the people who unconditionally love, support, and care for us. If there are toxic people around us on a consistent basis, and we allow their negativity to affect us, this alone could bring on disease by weakening our defenses.

We can create an energetic support team consisting of people who accept you without judging, enabling, or commiserating, and who encourage you to trust yourself, follow your heart, and embrace your vulnerabilities.

Sacred Key #9: Cultivating Lightheartedness

Cultivating lightheartedness includes spontaneity, humor, and play—all launch pads to creativity and spiritual growth. It is essential to aligning with our soul’s passion and purpose and sustaining joy in our lives. Being lighthearted naturally liberates the mind, opens the heart, and lifts the spirit. In this state of being, we can take life less seriously, see it as a passionate adventure, and stay as flexible as possible. To live “soul fully, we must spend time playing, simply having fun, and taking pleasure in the simple things in life that make our hearts sing with joyful abandon.

Sacred Key #10: Making Discerning Choices

When we make discerning choices inspired by love instead of fear, we feel like co-creators of our lives in sync with our soul’s journey. We choose what soulfully aligns with us, and what does not. We make conscious choices that not only sustain our well-being but also the well-being of the planet and all its inhabitants. Each enlightened choice we make from our hearts serves ourselves as well as others’ highest and greatest good.

Making discerning choices brings our brains and bodies into coherence with the flow of love. When love is flowing through us, we are powerful enough to envision and create whatever is necessary for us to feel fully self-expressed. When we make discerning choices from love, we perpetuate a more universal, encompassing, and loving worldview.

A soul-hearted life is grace in motion. We have a sense of riding the crest of a wave, dancing in the light, and being wholeheartedly aligned with our soul’s journey. There is no ego, self-consciousness, or reservation, but rather a natural lightheartedness and a sense that nothing is more important than the present moment. There are no problems, hindrances, or obstacles to fully expressing the light of our being. Laughter comes easily and quickly as does the ease and flexibility in playing with all possibilities in life.

Ultimately, I wish that you experience yourself as a “light and love being” having a human experience.
